For more than 70 years, hello, Goodbuy has been about much more than thrift shopping. We are a community-supported nonprofit thrift store built on a simple idea: when our community gives, our entire community benefits.

Our story began in the 1950s, when a small group of people with big hearts took a leap of faith and opened St. Mark’s Thrift Store. Even in those early years, the vision was bigger than simply selling donated goods. They created a model centered around giving back to neighbors who needed a helping hand.

In 2011, that vision took a new shape when St. Mark’s Thrift Store relocated and was reborn as hello, Goodbuy.

Today, we continue that same mission with a paid staff, dedicated volunteers, generous donors, community partners, and shoppers who choose to support a store where every purchase has a purpose.

Where Your Donations Go

When you donate to hello, Goodbuy, you are doing more than clearing out a closet, garage, or home. Your donations help provide affordable merchandise to our community and generate funds that are returned to the Golden Isles through our community outreach programs.

Our mission is to:

• Fund projects led by charitable organizations in Glynn County
• Provide low- to no-cost, quality merchandise to individuals, families, and the community
• Provide stable, fairly compensated employment for our small store staff
• Support local individuals and families experiencing a need
• Create opportunities for our community to give back and get involved

We distribute funds to qualifying local nonprofit organizations through our give-back program, while also supporting individuals and families in need through our voucher program and direct donations.

Since the beginning of our community funding program, hello, Goodbuy has returned more than $2 million to the community, helping fund projects and programs for more than 100 organizations.

And we’re not stopping there.

Our Voucher Partner Program

One of the most meaningful ways we give back is through our Voucher Partner Program.

We partner with local organizations that work directly with individuals and families who need assistance. Through this program, our nonprofit partners can provide eligible individuals with store credit to shop at hello, Goodbuy for the things they need.

That might mean clothing and shoes, household necessities, bedding, furniture, or other items that can help make life a little easier.

We Pick Up, Too!

Have a piece of furniture or a larger donation that you can’t get to the store yourself?

We may be able to help!

hello, Goodbuy offers free pickup services for selected furniture and other large donations throughout the Golden Isles.

We can pick up qualifying donations from:

• Homes
• Businesses
• Churches
• Estates
• Home moves
• Special events and other situations involving larger quantities of donatable items

Because we have limited space and resources, not every item or pickup request can be accepted. Pickup requests are reviewed individually to make sure the items are appropriate for donation and that we have the ability to safely transport them.

Donate

Donating your gently used clothing, furniture, household items, antiques, and other treasures give new life to things that might otherwise be discarded—and help us continue giving back to the Golden Isles.

We ask that donated items be clean, usable, and in good condition. Please take a moment to inspect your donations before bringing them to us. Washing clothing and kitchenware, vacuuming furniture and carpets, and dusting other items helps us get your donations onto the sales floor more quickly.

Donation Drop-Off Hours

Tuesday–Saturday
10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Donations are accepted at the side door. Please ring the bell for assistance.

We are unable to accept donations outside of our designated donation hours. Items left outside the building before or after those hours may be considered illegal dumping.

Because we have limited staff and space, our donation hours are firm. We need the time after 3:00 PM to process the day’s donations and prepare them for the store.

Please remember that hello, Goodbuy reserves the right to refuse any donation based on condition, safety, space, or our current ability to process an item.

Become a Volunteer

hello, Goodbuy simply could not do what we do without our volunteers.

From sorting and pricing donations to organizing merchandise and helping keep the store running smoothly, our volunteers are an important part of everything we accomplish.

Whether you have a few hours a week, a few hours a month, or simply want to get involved in your community, we’d love to have you join us.

Supporting Local Nonprofits

hello, Goodbuy provides funding opportunities for qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving Glynn County.

Our give-back program allows local organizations to request financial support for projects and programs that benefit our community.

Funding applications are reviewed according to our established process, with distributions made when excess funds allow.

If your organization would like to be considered, funding request applications are available online and in our store. Please review the application for eligibility requirements, deadlines, and submission instructions.
